When someone has wronged me, and I want to retaliate - I remember that I have eight pairs of eyes watching my response.
When I am upset and I want to yell horrible words at someone, I remember that I have eight pairs of ears listening.
When I want to respond to something with non-Christ like rage, I remember how my children will perceive my anger.
When Biblical truth is a hard truth, I look at my kids and I see their eyes watching me.
When I feel the pressure of the world and think it would be easier to just give up my values, standards, and convictions, I look at the precious faces of my kids.
And I realize that because of them, I am a better person.
They are the reason I have to stay true to what I believe.
I am their first example of what a Christian is.
If I don't love Christ, they most likely won't either.
If I don't exhibit the fruits of the Spirit, they most likely won't.
If I don't have grace for others, they won't either.
If I don't forgive, they won't.
If I don't love others, they won't.
If I choose hate, they most likely will, too.
If I don't care for souls, they won't either.
If I give up and flop out, they most likely will, too.
Being a Christian starts in the home.
And I am the best one to show that to my kids.
